Eshon Burgundy Dismissed Political Chatter with Biblical Truth

As most of you know, the time for farewell has come for President Barack Obama. Frankly I haven’t been a fan since watching him mock the Sermon on the Mount, but nevertheless I was hopefully rooting for him as president as I believe any logical American would do.

Like most people trying to avoid the fruitless ridiculousness that often takes place on social media, Eshon Burgundy keeps his political opinions to himself. In a post that says literally nothing about anything political, the nonsense ensued anyway. The comment section is frustrating, but Eshon’s response is golden. Below are the two posts in order. Notice how petty arguing goes away when we broaden our perspective to a biblical worldview.

The comments quickly rolled in attempting to point at flaws.

“Just turned his back on Israel. Thats classy?”

You must not understand politics, then. But, you may certainly express your opinion.

Classy upfront maybe but trashy behind the scenes. Salute that!

In response this morning, Eshon posted the following photo and caption,

Me looking back at the comments on my last post. All this self righteous pharisee talk…ya’ll sound like ya’ll bought the lie that this world is somehow supposed to get better before Christ returns…like God hasn’t orchestrated this and put these leaders in place. Like He doesn’t COMMAND us to pray for these people so that we ourselves can live peaceful lives. God uses whomever He wants to complete His agenda on earth whether that’s Bush, Obama, Trump or Pharaoh! Everything ya’ll saying about these PEOPLE publicly could probably be said of you…watch ya mouth…you’re Christians not a brood of vipers. Our war is not with flesh and blood…are you reading your Bibles? “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
